Charley and Paul (325 of 731)
So today I am so excited to let you know my Bride Tribe is complete! Ever since Curly asked me to marry him, I knew exactly who I wanted by my side the morning I was getting ready, to help me keep myself together and stand by my side when I say ‘I do!’.

For me, I wanted to ask my closest friends, who mean the world to me, to be my bridesmaids. I wanted to ask them in a fun way and sometimes I am not so great at saying how I feel but I wanted each of them to know how much they mean to me. Being a Pinterest lover (as I have mentioned way too many times now!) I had seen loads of cool and creative ways to ask your bridesmaids. I really wanted to wait till we had a date set, but as we are currently toying between 2 venues and can’t make up our mind just yet, I didn’t want to wait any longer. I wanted to talk wedding plans with them and have their input and ideas, and just get generally excited about the wedding plans! I put a couple of boxes together as a little present to each of them. A personalised card, a couple of my favourite photos with each of them, and some other little bits.

I think when you are asking someone to be your bridesmaid, make it special. You don’t have to go loads of effort or spend loads of money. But for me, I wanted to gift them with a little something, write down why they were important to me and be able to do it face-to-face. I will remember each moment with them when I asked. I was super nervous! So silly, but I am so happy they were all over the moon. And I am so happy the way I did it! Ellie and Han both took pics straight after so you can see them below! I ordered the personalised cards from Notonthehighstreet.com

I have been chatting to a few people recently, brides and people who have been married before about this very part of a day, choosing your bridal party. If you are unsure who to choose as your bridesmaid, ignore what everyone is telling you!

Don’t feel you have to ask your cousin who you haven’t seen for 20 years, just because they are your family. Have who you want! For me it was easy, my closest girlfriends! Who love and support me, have my best interest at heart, lift me up when I am down and are super positive and happy people – and important to both Curly and I! I thought about situations I will be in between now and the moments before I walk down the aisle. Think about how your going to be feeling the morning of the wedding, surround yourself with the people you love, who you enjoy spending time with and are positive and as excited about you getting married. You don’t want to surround yourself with stress and worry.

Have you asked your bridesmaids yet? How have you done it? Or planning to? I’d love to hear from you!

Much love, Charlotte x
