Friday Favourites: Date Nights

Got something special planned this Valentines Day?

If I am honest, My boyfriend and I don’t make a big song and dance about Valentines Day. Now I confess I am a big romantic at heart, but we fill the whole year with romantic nights in or out, mini adventures, taking a walk just for the sake of having a walk. We have been together over 8 years and have never isolated romantic evenings or cards and presents to just Valentines Day.

I recently posted in my Facebook group for Brides about having a date night. Get it in the diary, make it an actual date you both stick to. It doesn’t just need to be once a year! So as Valentine’s day is quickly coming by, I thought I would share a couple of article I came across for date ideas and share a couple of ours we have done!

A Walk on the Beach

My boyfriend being a surfer, and having always grown up by the beach myself, this is easily our favourite place. In the winter, we take a couple of blankets to the beach and wrap up really warm, and take a flask of mulled wine! Now we have Denzel we tie it in with going for a lovely dog walk. There is something so special about the beach, especially having moved back after living away for several years.

Cheese and Wine Night In

The perfect combination! We did this recently when we had a mini break away in Cornwall. Sat in front of the wood burner, and had a Christmas movie on in the background. A perfect evening in!

Go on an Adventure

Go somewhere new, somewhere you have never been before. We recently went to a reclamation yard (very random I know! We are in the process of decorating our bedroom). Loads of people had suggested this place to go. Anyway, it turned out to be such a fun afternoon, and we ended up being there for hours wandering around, finding such cool, random and old things. Turned out to be a messy trip as he was in trainers, and I was in converse….would have been more apporpriate to wear my wellies! I completely sank in the puddles as it had been chucking it down with rain (No surprises there in this country!) I feel in love with it there had such a great afternoon and looking forward to going back again soon. We have also done loads of other exploring in the New Forest,  Cornwall, Durdle Door, Studland and come across some amazing places. Just go for a wander and see where you end up 🙂

Enjoy and I hope you have a fabulous Valentines Day.

Much love, Charlotte x
